"How can I be my brother's keeper, if I don't have one?"

Exploring ways to help our neighbors now by making practical art from recycled grocery bags

Shari Lynn, during her year of "undercover homelessness", discovered a way to help those less fortunate than herself and get her students passionately involved in the process, when one of her students asked, "How can I be my brother's keeper, if I don't have one?"

This started her journey in educating her local community on homelessness, the lack of affordable housing and the small ways in which we can help one another.

As of September 20th, 2015 with the support of the B'nai Israel Religious School of Southbury CT, the Town of Brookfield Public Schools, the National Havurah Committee, and the Housatonic Valley Waldorf School Camp, she has completed and distributed 6 "plarn" sleeping mats to the Greater Waterbury Interfaith Ministries (GWIM) and she has been approached by several homeless advocacy agencies who also would like mats for their clients.
